Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Work on rotation at SAHARA, Hassi Messaoud, or GH site/OC camp.
  • Contribute to business development, project development, and project execution phases in an engineering role.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies, due diligence studies, and prepare technical inputs/proposals for business development.
  • Manage project execution for all engineering phases including CFT development, tendering, execution, basic and detailed engineering, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Lead the development of specifications, technical bidding, and vendor document evaluation for static machines in Industrial EPC Projects.
  • Provide leadership for mechanical technical design and project coordination.
  • Prepare equipment data sheets and full mechanical equipment and system specifications.
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations, and prepare reports with recommendations.
  • Develop procurement strategies and participate in tendering processes, including bidder list reviews, pre-qualification evaluations, document preparation, contractor plan and specification reviews, and coordination with procurement and logistics teams.
  • Review, comment, and approve contractor’s design and engineering work, and resolve design and engineering issues including cost estimation and problem analysis.
  • Monitor contractor activities and provide technical support during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, specifications, and SSHE standards.
  • Participate in plant layout design workshops, providing input on material handling and maintenance best practices.
  • Represent in technical meetings, providing expertise in facility engineering and technical reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and PTR.
  • Ensure quality of design calculations and drawings according to the Project Execution Plan, applicable procedures, standards, and safety and quality control.
  • Enforce HSE policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical advice on static machine design, operation problems, corrosion, inspection programs, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and applicable regulations in Algeria.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in mechanical, piping systems, and static equipment.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical, piping, and static equipment for the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience in project development phases such as Conceptual, FEED, EPCI, especially in desert environments.
  • Experience in designing and operating production facilities for gas/oil/water processing.
  • Familiarity with various types of static equipment including vessels, columns, tanks, furnaces, heat exchangers, and flares.
  • Proficient in ASME, API, BS, and ISO Standards for static equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Systematic thinker with a proactive working style and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach and ability to interact with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in remote environments.
  • Positive attitude and team player (One team, one goal).
