Job Description


  • Ensure that operations comply with HSE Bridging documents and the contractor’s HSE Management system.
  • Monitor and observe work crews to identify unsafe acts or conditions, promoting job risk awareness and risk controls.
  • Support the HSE team and management in updating the site risk register based on changing activities/scenarios, and monitor the implementation of mitigation measures and improvement actions.
  • Participate in activity risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as needed.
  • Provide HSE advice during daily Permit to Work (PtW) meetings.
  • Monitor and ensure the implementation of a site emergency drills plan.
  • Be conversant with hazard management techniques and advise on suitable preventive and recovery measures for accident situations.
  • Implement environmental legislation and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Liaise with contractor representatives to acquire HSE data and indicators, including Process Safety metrics.
  • Conduct compliance inspections and audits.
  • Assist in incident investigation, root cause analysis, reporting, and administration.
  • Ensure lifting equipment and devices are maintained, inspected, and all relevant registers are developed.
  • Inspect work platforms and scaffolding systems before use, discussing and analyzing identified risks during Tool Box talks and pre-task instructions to crews.
  • Support the identification, monitoring, and analysis of the performance of Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs).
  • Report and monitor all live inhibits or overrides and ensure their prompt restoration to normal.
  • Verify that maintenance on all SECEs is executed promptly with minimal backlog.
  • Monitor pre-tour HSE meetings, weekly HSE meetings, etc., report non-conformities, and suggest/implement improvements.
  • Monitor the HSE training requirements of personnel on board.
  • Ensure that PPE is available, suitable for tasks, and taken out of service when unfit, in accordance with the PPE Distribution Matrix.
  • Support and verify the implementation of Company HSE initiatives on board.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of operational experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and 2 years in HSE supervision activities.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of French preferred, some Arabic is a plus.
  • Experience in Emergency Response Planning and assurance activities.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE laws and regulations, international HSE codes, and HSE data management and reporting.
  • Proven competencies in problem-solving, excellence orientation, decision-making, entrepreneurial spirit, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a remote location on a 28/28 shift basis.
